
Originally trained as an apprentice engineer Peter’s passion for high-quality furniture was fired back in 1979 when he joined a thriving furniture maker in Chiswick serving high-end private residential customers. Close ties to his Lincolnshire roots led Peter to launch Trojanwood in 1981 at the workshop that is still occupied today. Peter continues to oversee all aspects of the business’ development and his passion for ensuring Trojanwood blend the best of traditional and modern fabrication techniques is as strong as ever. Peter is a keen outdoorsman in his spare time seeking out hills that make contrast from the flats of the fens and the tireless gentlemanly pursuit of the perfect golf swing.

They say that the apple never falls far from the tree, eventually in Matt’s case. Originally trained as a Sports Scientist working with some of the UK & Europe’s top sporting academies Matt joined the family business in 2008. The lessons and methodologies learned from helping top sporting personalities achieve their goals have direct parallels to business is Matt’s philosophy – A commitment to excel, delivering on promises, whatever it takes to get the job done are just some of the principles Matt applies to his work at Trojanwood. Matt’s formative years in “Dad’s workshop” were spent learning the practical skills required to compete with the UK’s premier furniture makers from the ground up. Matt is a keen sportsman in his spare time captaining the local Hockey team and also enjoys travel, usually with a surf board in hand.

John has been with the business from the very beginning, joining as an apprentice in 1981 he is now responsible for all aspects of the shop floor from design through to delivery and beyond. John is a keen problem solver striving to ensure that innovation, process efficiency and quality are at the heart of our production process. In his spare time John is a keen musician

David has been with the business since 1994. Originally trained as a gunsmith, Dave’s core specialisms cover all veneering, marquetry and intricate hand carving work. Dave’s passion for woodworking extends into his spare time as an established Cajon builder and acoustic instrument luthier including Mandolins and Acoustic Guitars.

A furniture maker by trade Steve joined the business as a master furniture maker & joiner in 2001. In his spare time Steve is actively involved in the family’s established farming business.

Jon has been with the business since 2002 initially starting out on the Trojanwood apprenticeship program. Jon relishes large scale centre-piece projects; the chunkier the better. In his spare time Jon has a keen interest in electronics and car engines.

James has been with the business since 2006. A product designer by education James adds valuable design expertise to the workshop helping to ensure form always meets function. As a master jig maker James is able to tackle the most challenging and intricate pieces. In his spare time James likes to relax as a Fisherman around Lincolnshire’s many water-ways.

Trained as an apprentice at Trojanwood in 2004, Barry is our finishing specialist running the in-house Spray shop and detail finishing applications.

Trained as an apprentice in 1994, Andrew is one of our most experienced members of staff and carries the fruits of our labour on his shoulders. As our logistics and installation expert, when it’s time to deliver, be it carriage & transport of an individual piece through to a large-scale commercial or private residence installation Andrew & his team ensure minimum client disruption and maximum impact during the critical end-phase of the project. Andrew has a passion for the arts outside of work as an active guitarist and as a budding luthier.
